12 Labor Inspectors take oath before RD Gonzales
With the rising number of foreign nationals working in the country, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) urge to hire additional 500 contractual Labor Inspector (LI) positions nationwide. This is to augment the existing enforcement in doing inspection/validation of establishments ensuring that all Philippine-based establishments are compliant to labor standards as well as monitoring the existence of employed foreign nationals to safeguard the employment opportunities for local Filipino workers.

Moreover, these hired enforcers will do the following: (1) inspection of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators and establishments employing Foreign Nationals, (2) validation of Alien Employment Permit (AEP), (3) AEP processing and ensure process cycle time compliance, and (4) Ensure integrity of data relative to Foreign Workers in the country.
Prior to deployment, 12 LIs will undergo trainings for them to be equipped with the knowledge and other technical approach in executing their functions.
Expect that before the end of this year, this task force will be deployed to each respective areas of assignment.
